Hairball

I would gladly go bald for you kid.

Dear Fellow Mom Who is Losing Her Hair,

This sucks, but don’t forget, we ROCK! It may grow back, it might not, but it doesn’t really matter because we are more than our hair.

A friend of mine told me we are losing the hair that we did not lose during the 9 months of our pregnancy, so it’s totally normal.

WebMD and Women’s Health Magazine say losing up to 100 hairs daily is normal regardless of being postpartum, period.

And thank you KellyMom for assuring us that it typically does grow back.

Above all else, the most important message that matters right now, is the one we tell ourselves. Perhaps we can start by saying, “I love you hair, falling out and all.”

Fellow Mom with a receding hairline for maybe the first time in her life, it’s okay. Our baby doesn’t give a crap about what hair we do or don’t have on our head.

As I look at my little one, so precious and sweet, I think to myself “I would gladly go bald for you kid.”

So as another glob of hair falls out during the shower or when you take out your top knot, remember this, you are not alone, we are in this together and you are LOVED no matter what.

Hugs & Shuffles,
Jenny
